Feasibility Studies

Our mission at STANDING STONE CONSULTING INC. is to help create the safest environments possible, while at the same time supporting and enhancing the primary mission of our client's organization and facility. We know that the environment heavily impacts performance and behavior, and by understanding and manipulating the environment we can positively influence behavior and improve performance and security. Our consultants work closely with our clients to develop effective strategies that create a place that is productive, comfortable, and safe.

Before any project is undertaken the feasibility of that project should be evaluated. STANDING STONE provides a multi-dimensional analysis of the site location, and the requirements and expectations if the people who will be using the new facility. Can the planned environment and the surrounding community safely support the envisioned purpose of the new facility? Are the resources of the community sufficient to make this project a safe and secure place that is able to respond to anticipated emergencies?

Community Resources

Our feasibility analysis will determine the circumstances in a community that can contribute to or detract from the safety, security, and emergency response capability of a proposed project. Normally a feasibility study considers such a threat as fire, flood, and some natural disasters. STANDING STONE expands this to include a comprehensive threat and vulnerability analysis, which then becomes the basis of a risk assessment for the planned facility.

Risks

A threat is any incident with the potential to cause harm to an organization's people, operations, information, and / or property. Our consultants will define the level of threat (either intended, accidental, or natural) that an organization of facility faces by analyzing what might cause a problem and how those circumstances could occur. Vulnerabilities are those things that leave a facility or organization open to attack or damage by a perpetrator, a natural, or an accidental event. STANDING STONE will provide an in depth analysis of how specific vulnerabilities may invite or permit a threat to occur.

A Risk Analysis is the examination, based on the threat and vulnerability analysis, of the consequences to and organization or facility of any occurrence that may interfere with their mission. A Risk Analysis is the basis of a sound decision concerning the feasibility of the project.

A STANDING STONE feasibility study answers the question, "If this facility is built here, will it be safe, and able to respond to the consequences of the risks it may face?"
